Romans 8:28-29

“And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose. 29For those whom he foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, in order that he might be the firstborn among many brothers.”

Okay, the first verse here is quoted very frequently. But why does everything work out for good to those are called according to God’s purpose? It’s because verse 29 which is an awesome power verse: God foreknew each of us, and predestined us to be conformed into the image of Christ. In other words, if we know the LORD our destinies are all to become like Chrsit! My destiny is Christ-likeness. That’s so excited for me to realize.

While we’re in the battle, sometimes it’s easy to get discouraged because all we see are our weaknesses and our shortcomings. It’s easy to think that we’ll “never get there” to the place of being like Christ. But this verse says that it is our destiny to become like Christ and to be counted as among many brothers (girls, that applies to you as sisters, it’s not only for the boys! woot woot!). We’re all going to be siblings of Christ and all perfect children of God together in the end.

NOW, that’s something to get excited about. I know I am.
