1 Corinthians 1:12

“For our boast is this, the testimony of our conscience, that we behaved in the world with simplicity and godly sincerity, not by earthly wisdom but by the grace of God, and supremely so toward you.”

Something I’ve thought about a bit recently is just how I want to live my life so that I don’t have regrets. This thought has been triggered because there have been a few times with people recently, where after we’re done talking, I really begin to question whether I should have said more.

I am coming to believe that I, as someone who wants to be faithful to my LORD, must make a decision to always speak the truth, regardless of the circumstances. I don’t have the ability to change people’s hearts—that’s God’s business. But, I do have the power to speak truth.

Acts 20:20 says, “You know that I have not hesitated to preach anything that would be helpful to you but have taught you publicly and from house to house.” (NIV)

I really want to be able to say the same thing—that I have not hesitated to “preach” anything that would be helpful.

Additionally, 2 Timothy 2:15 gives apt instruction, “Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who has no need to be ashamed, rightly handling the word of truth.”

Let us speak the truth boldly out of love.
